Can I Get A New Hd Receiver From Dish Network Without The Hd Programming?
ByI just got a new 42″ LCD TV, and the picture quality is terrible with my dish network receiver and regular programming. The receiver only has composite and S video output. I was wondering if dish network would give me a new receiver with HDMI output, without making me sign up for HD programming/installing a new satellite, or if it would even be worth it. If I had a receiver with HDMI output to the TV, with standard programming, how much would the picture quality improve?

i do not see the point… i doubt that they would upgrade the hardware with out upgrading the service, because there would be no difference in passing a standard def signal over an HDMI cable… it is still going to be a standard def image…
